Poptropica began selling products via the internet in March 2009, starting with t-shirts through Zazzle. Poptropica also started selling wall prints with various Poptropica characters a few days later through Larger Than Life prints.
On May 30, 2009, Poptropica began selling 'Poptropica credits' online. Credits are used in the game to 'buy' special costumes and abilities. However, players can also obtain credits through the completion of islands.
Sometime in August 2011 Poptropica started making and selling toys. These toys include plush toys, plastic figures, and a Poptropica Inflatable Blimp.These toys are only available at Toys 'R' Us. Each toy comes with a secret code to unclock special features for you and your poptropican. Also on SkinIt.com you can buy Poptropica skins for electonic devices. On September 24, 2011, Poptropica started coming out with an official guide you can only buy on Amazon. Sometime throughout the month, if you buy it you can participate in scavenger hunts throughout the book and win cool prizes for your Poptropican.

The creators in Poptropica have been busy this week! In addition to launching Mythology Island to the public, and making a lot of cool announcements about the upcoming Skullduggery Island, they also released two new items into the Poptropica Store!
Putting some Pop in Poptropica
The new items are bubble gum, which your Poptropican can chew. When you use the item, your character will start chewing gum. You can press the spacebar to blow bubbles, which will quickly form and then float away and pop. If you press the spacebar really fast, you get get a lot of bubbles! To stop chewing, bring the item back up in your backpack and click on the Stop Chewing button.

There are two flavors available. The first is classic flavor, which makes pink bubbles. The second is Cinnamon Fire flavor, which makes orange and red bubbles that turn into puffs of smoke when they pop.
